How much does it cost?
- Adults 17yrs+, $17 pp/pn.
- Young Adults (12yrs to 16yrs) $14 pp/pn
- Children 0yrs - 11yrs, $11 pp/pn.
- Pets - Free *MUST BE ON A LEAD/TETHERED AT ALL TIMES (More info below)
- Visitors to Camping guests - $5 per person. (Bookings and permits essential - More info below)
- Events and peak times may have extra fees and charges.
When are you open?
- The campground is open 5 days a week. Thursday 9am to Monday 12pm.
- The office kiosk is open on Friday and Saturday. Check in on arriavl at the Office kiosk.
- Need to call us? Sure, please call between 9am and 5pm Thursday-Monday.
- Maintenance days are Tuesday/ Wednesday each week. This means we may be taking care of mowing and fire pits on these days and we may be unable to answer your call.
Do I have to book?
YES!! Bookings are essential here at Running Creek. We keep a low cap of people on the property at any one time. This ensures your stay is quiet and peaceful with plenty of space around you. Please see full Rules and Regs page for payment and cancellation policy.
How do I Book?
To make your booking go to our "contact us/Bookings" page located at the top of this page. For mobile devices, click on the menu button in the top corner of the page and select "Contact/Bookings".
Do not make bookings for other families/couples/friends that are joining you.
When can we arrive, and when is check out?
- Arrivals - Anytime between 9am and 8pm. Check in on arrival.
- Departure - Before 2pm on the day of check out. *Monday departures are by 12pm.
What facilities do you have?
As an eco-friendly camping facility, we encourage our guests to bring their own facilities, this helps reduce our environmental footprint.
Toilets- 6 Toilet units are on site in the main camping area and 1 small dump point.
4 eco toilets with low water flush on a large holding tank. This system is perfect for our low carbon emissions, and eco-friendly water consumption.
2 portable toilets on the ground to assist those with mobility trouble. Standard water flush and hand wash inside.
You are most welcome to bring your own portable toilet, in fact, we encourage it :) Showers - Showers are availabe between 7am and 6pm ONLY. Walking access only, 250m walk from the camping area. Soap/towels/toiletries are not provided. Pets are NOT permitted at the shower area. Bins - 1 large general waste bin located in the main camping area.
Cardboard Bin - please place all flatten clean cardboard into our new cardboard bin. This bin is making a huge reduction in general waste that would go to land fill. No pizza boxes or soiled cardboard here please :)
Recycling - all drinking Cans/plastic bottles/glass bottles! Please put all your drinking cans and drinking bottles into our Containers for Change bins located in the car park at the office kiosk. We take all your cans to the container for change facility at Burpengary. All proceeds are used in projects that help us create an eco-friendlier environment. So far, we have planted 250 trees from all your cans!! Check out our What's Happening page for updates on our projects. Dump point - We have created our very own portable toilet/potty/caravan canister dump point!! We currently do NOT have a dump point for large caravan black water tanks, please go to Woodford Show grounds for large waste tanks.
Water - We do NOT have any water supply here for campers to use. Please bring in your own water. Drinking water can be purchased at the office Kiosk.
Power - We do not have power facilities here. We highly recommend solar units for Happy Campers to get the full benefit of those creature comforts while your away. Although there's nothing quite like going bush old school style!
Can I have a campfire?
- We love a good campfire, and we love letting our Happy Campers enjoy a campfire out here. Be Fire Smart, Be Fire Safe.
- Fires must always be contained in a fire drum. We have small supply here for you to use.
- NEVER have your fire on the ground. We provide fire pits for use and you are welcome to bring your own approved firepit.
- Keep your fire clean, adding paper and rubbish can cause embers to float out of your drum and out of your control.
- Supervise. Always supervise your fire.... ALWAYS
- Extinguish your fire completely when you retire or when leaving your site. Put your fire out COMPLETELY.
- Be prepared for a fire emergency. Always have firefighting equipment on hand ready, not stored in your camper, campervan or car where you cannot reach them quickly in an emergency.
- Be aware of your surroundings. The campground is situated between Bellthorpe national Park and Running Creek State Forest.
- Fire drums can be collected from the office kiosk if you are unable to find one in your camping area. If you are moving a fire drum, please take care and wear safety gloves.
- Position your fire drum away from trees, over hanging branches, garden areas and long grass.
- Please leave your fire drum in your area after your stay. Our staff will collect firepits on their maintenance day and recycle your ash into our revegetation program.
Do you have Firewood?
YES!! Please purchase our sustainably sourced firewood – Our supplier is a leader in green waste management. Their product is sourced from Australian sustainably grown and sourced timbers and is often the unusable off cuts from large sawmill companies.
- Bagged firewood is $12 per bag, Kindling is $5 per bag and available from our kiosk office. You can bring in your own firewood, however we do not allow other companies/private persons to deliver wood to the campground or your site.
- The use of chainsaws is prohibited on site. ***DO NOT CUT DOWN OUR TREES OR BRANCHES***
Do you have a creek for swimming?
YES!! Running Creek is a small rocky creek that runs through the camping ground.
- It's not suitable for kayaks or large floating devices.
- It's perfect for pets to swim (on leads)
- It does have a swimming water hole or two. Small in width and only arm pit depth when at its best)
- No camping permitted on the creek bank; all camp sites are set back to allow communal use of the creek areas.
- Perfect to take a chair down and sit with your feet in the water, listen to the birds and sounds of the creek.... arrrggghhh the serenity ;)
- Fishing of any kind is not permitted in Running Creek, its a wonderfully diverse and fragile eco-system.
Can we use a generator?
YES!!
- Between 8am - 10am and then between 4pm – 6pm.
- generators must be kept at your site (no further than 2m from your tent or caravan)
- Keep fuel safe by storing you fuel at your campsite with a fire extinguisher ready.
Are you Pet friendly?
- YES, BUT - you must follow our pet rules!
- We love pets, all shapes, and sizes! Dogs are the main camping companion, however, we have met some amazing and unusual camping pets, so if you'd like to bring your pet, and they are not a canine, just ask us first if there is any special requirements necessary. Unfortunately, horses are not permitted.
- All pets are to be contained/ tethered or on a lead, at all times. This is a City of Moretonbay local law, it's important to be in control of your pet at all times.
- Collect all pet waste and dispose of waste in the large bins provided.
- You are responsible for your pet, its waste, its behaviour and its damages under local law.
- We are in the bush, please have your pets tick protected.
- Pets must always be with their owner. Pets are not to be left unattended at campsites or in caravans.
- Horses are NOT permitted. You will see horse pass by the campground regularly, keep pets and children safely inside the camping ground. Remember... on QLD roads, a horse has right of way, please drive with caution and watch for direction given by the horse rider.
Anything for the kids?
- We are family friendly, however we do not provide any entertainment or facilities for children.
- Children need to be supervised at all times.
- Children (all ages) must be with an adult at all facilities.
- Children and yound adults are not permitted to camp without adult (18+) supervision.
Can I have visitors to my campsite?
YES!! But.......
- There is a limit of 10 visitor passes for the whole campground each day. 1 pass per person all ages.
- Bookings are absolutely essential, please email us to add visitors onto your booking.
- $5 per person ( all ages)
- Visitors are only permitted from 10am to 2pm. No exceptions. Why? Insurance...
- My visitors are coming for dinner??? ............ No problem! they will need to book in as overnight guests.
Can I have a party/event/ large group here?
No, Sorry, we are not a great fit for party's and large groups or events.
- No more than 4 families are permitted to camp together (5 couples are permitted) Maximum of 12 guests in a group.
Can Groups of more than 4 families just spread out and still hang out together?
No. Hanging out in larger groups of more than 12 is not permitted here. We are all about the peace, quite and tranquility.
Do you have a Noise Curfew?
YES! 10pm is our Noise Curfew
- Please arrive well before 8pm.
- No driving into or around the campground after 8pm
- Music off and keep voices lowered after 10pm
- TIP*** To check your noise, walk from your site to the next site, if you can hear your music or group, your too loud :)
What about noise through the day?
It's absolutely fine to have a bit of noise through the day....but
- Remember you are in a place of peace, quite, tranquility!
- Playing out door games like cricket/soccer/football? No problem! Please make sure your playing in a safe area and away from other camping sites.
- Playing music? keep the music within your camping space. Walk to the next campsite, if you can hear your music, it's too loud.
- Be conciderate to other campers :)
It's a bird, no its a plane, no its..... maybe something that's not Happy Camper friendly?
For guest safety, these items are not permitted:
- Fishing of any kind.
- Motorised recreation vehicles including Quad bikes, ATV's,
- Motor Bikes / Dirt bikes (Guests traveling on bike are most welcome, but bikes cannot be ridden through/around the property
- Drones
- Whip cracking
- archery and gel blasters
- Chainsaws
- Rope swings of any kind
- Dogs not on a lead.
